I engage in a limited amount of activity as a tiny angel investor. These revolve around a few direct deals and a handful of syndicate deals, maybe soon some rolling funds. These are personal investments—I don't invest for an entity or anyone else, although I may occasionally consider deals with my brother.
My volume is low and currently falls in the range of 1-4 deals per year. And while the larger checks I’ve written have been in the five-figures, these days they’re mostly small checks. So I augment the reduced capital by adding value in other meaningful ways—from being a sounding board, firing up Excel and working through models, helping to interview/hire candidates, debugging issues, reviewing technical designs, architecting solutions, and even rolling up the sleeves and writing code (a few words about my background here).
Perhaps over time the volume will grow and the capital will increase, but who knows—let's see how it goes.
